The Desire of My Soul
(Ps42:1-5; Jn4:23-26)

God is the living God (Ps42:2).
He reveals Himself in His time and
He meets with those who long for Him (Ps107:9).

Faith is having one and only one desire for my soul to see His face.
The life of this faith is waiting and preparing to see Him when He appears a second time in the air (He9:28).

Death is the greatest sadness for man because
One can no longer see the face of the loved one.
However, as long as they are alive, even if apart now,
They can live with the desire to see the face of the loved ones one day.

The Bible records the blessing of peace, salvation, help and answer
Resulting from God’s face shining on men (Ps80:7),
While it also records the curse that follows God’s hidden face (Ps69:17, 88:14).

Deceived by the devil, Adam sinned and was
Banished from the Garden of Eden, which became hidden by the flaming sword (Ge3:24).

The fear of Cain, who sinned and was driven out of the land, was
Death resulting from being hidden from the face of God (Ge4:14).

Israel’s particular longing for the temple (Ps84:2) was because
The name of the Lord God Jehovah was there (1Ki5:5) as well as
The stone tablets, the evidence for Moses meeting with God (Ex25:16, 32:15, 33:11).

The face of Moses that shone, albeit he only saw the back of God (Ex33:20-23), was
Veiled to the Israelites because of their sin and so
God’s face was hidden from them (Ex34:29-33; Is59:2).

Yeshua said, “Destroy the temple and I will raise it in three days” (Jn2:19), because
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body,
He would reveal the face of God directly (Jn14:9) for
He was the Word with God in the beginning (Jn1:1, 14, 18),
The exact representation of His being (He1:3).
As such, He showed His face that shone like the sun to the disciples (Mt17:2), and
Revealed Himself to the woman who longed for worship (Jn4:23-26).

Though they spit in His face and struck Him with their fists (Mt26:67),
As He died, Yeshua said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1) Committed His longing soul to the Father (Ps84:9, 107:9; Lk23:46);
2) Condemned the devil, the separator (Ge3:4-6; 1Jn3:8); and
3) With His blood cleansed souls so that they may see the face of God (Mt5:8).

He rose and the disciples worshiped Him (Mt28:9), and He was lifted up to heaven (Ac1:11).
He is the Lamb on the throne worshipped forever (Rev5:11-13).

The Holy Spirit whom He sent
Came to the souls who longed for Him (Ac2:1-4) and
This was the birth of the church, the beginning of worship.

Even at the risk of martyrdom
The early Christians put effort to gather (He10:25) for
They found even greater joy in seeing Him from within their souls
Thankful for seeing His resurrection with their naked eyes.

Worship means to see the face of God, kissing His hand, and
One is to worship in spirit and in truth (Jn4:23-24).

Accordingly, the Christian worships
On the Lord’s Day (Ac20:7; Rev1:10), in gathering in the name of Yeshua in the church (Mt18:20),
With holiness (Is58:13-14), offering (Dt16:16; Ps96:8; Lk21:1-4), faith (He11:6), martyrdom.
There is longing, joy and tears in worship for
In the past his soul was dead and did not know but
Now the desire of his soul is finally fulfilled.
Therefore, he puts every effort to prepare the best in his attire, attitude and offering for
The One worshipped is the King of kings, Jesus Christ, and
Whether evangelism or occupation he does it diligently so that
He can offer up to the Lord in the worship.
Furthermore, even in the duty that goes unnoticed
He does it joyfully to serve the Lord for
He longs for the day when he would finally see Him face to face (Rev22:3-4).

O Lord,
Whether asleep or awake, in suffering or in joy, in comfort or in trouble,
I can neither forget nor change even for a moment
The one desire I have which is
For my soul to see Your face!
Let me and all those You have given me see Your face in the air on that day!
