The Blood That Speaks a Better Word Than the Blood of Abel
(He12:24-25)

God is the God of mercy and of vengeance (Dt32:41; Ps31:23).
For He is merciful He forgives sins (Ps78:38; Rm9:15),
For He is avenging He pays back for sin (Jer51:56; Nah1:2).

Faith is knowing Him and
The life of this faith is leaving vengeance in God’s hands and putting effort to forgive those who sinned against one.

After Adam sinned as he was deceived by the devil
God declared His plan of sending the offspring of the woman (Ge3:14-15) so that
Through His death He would revenge the devil (He2:9).

Although after Abel was killed by his brother Cain
His blood cried out vengeance (Ge4:9-11),
When Cain pleaded to God for his life
God showed mercy on him and gave him a mark to protect him (Ge4:15-16).

The Law that was given to the Israelites was the commandment to avenge
A tooth for tooth, an eye for eye, a burn for burn and life for life (Ex21:24-25), and
For the avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death (Nu35:19).
However, it also commanded for the cities of refuge where
The accused can be protected (Nu35:6-28).

The sanctuary where
The stone tablets were placed inside the ark, above which was
The mercy seat where the blood of sacrifice was sprinkled (Ex25:17; Lev16:14-15)
Reminded the Israelites all this for generations.

When the times had reached their fulfillment,
Yeshua, the Son of God, came as the offspring of the woman (Lk1:34-35) and
Said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again three days” (Jn2:19), because
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body,
He would both take vengeance on God’s enemy and redeem all men (Dt32:43) for
He is the Word in the beginning who became flesh (Jn1:1,14) for
Only in the flesh He could die and
Only in the flesh He could shed blood.

As He died, He said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
Laid down His life to fulfill the Father’s will from the beginning (Jn10:17-18; 2Co5:21);
Avenged the devil God’s enemy (Is14:12-15; 1Jn3:8); and
Shed His blood and redeemed Adam’s sin (Mt20:28).

His blood is better than the blood of Abel (He12:24-25) because
While Abel was born on the ground (Ge4:10) and
The ground opened its mouth to receive his blood and thus cried out revenge (Ge4:10),
Yeshua, however, came from heaven (Jn1:18; 1Co15:45-47) and thus
Heaven opened to receive His blood and it cries out forgiveness (Lk23:34).

Yeshua resurrected and sat on the heavenly throne and
He is our advocate who is the atoning sacrifice for our sins (1Jn2:1-2).

The Holy Spirit comes those who opened their mouths and
Received in their souls the sprinkling of the blood of Yeshua (1Pe1:2), and
Lets them know that while they gained the right to forgive others’ sins (Jn20:23),
They have lost the right to avenge themselves for others’ sins (Mt5:38-39).

The man of the Spirit is he who
Hears from the deepest place in his soul (1Co2:12)
The blood cry of Yeshua (He12:24-25).
Therefore, he goes out to bring the news of forgiveness to others (Jn20:23),
Infinitely forgives his brothers (Mt18:21-22),
Blesses those who persecute him (Mt5:38-48) and
Feeds his enemy and heaps a burning coal on his head for
He overcomes evil with good (Rm12:14-20).

O Lord,
For we have all been hurt and bruised by even the smallest things,
Dissolve our wounds only by the blood of Yeshua and
Let us have the power to bless our enemies. Amen.
