The Word that the Soul Hears
(Jn1:1-4, 6:63)

God is Spirit (Jn4:24).
The Son who comes from Him, the Holy Spirit who comes from Him,
The Word who comes from Him are all Spirit (Jn1:14, 6:63), and
What gives life is the Spirit (Jn6:63).

Faith is knowing what my soul lives by and
The life of this faith is hearing His word and carrying it out into action (Jas2:26).

The importance of words depends on whose they are because
The character and the life of a man is
Shaped and determined by the words that he hears from another’s mouth.
As such, the result of one’s soul, eternal life, is decided by
Hearing the word that comes from the mouth of God (Mt4:4).

Through one man, Adam, all men died in the spirit (Rm5:12; 1Co15:22) for
Rather than listening to God’s word he listened to Eve’s (Ge2:17, 3:17), and ate the forbidden fruit.
As such, sin is listening to the word of man, the word of a creature.

Though thereafter no man could hear the word of God
God began to speak indirectly to men in the Bible (He1:1), such as
Noah, Abram, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Samuel, Elijah, the prophets.

Moses spoke with God in great length as one speaks to a friend (Ex33:11) and
Elijah rebuked the king and the people by the word of God (1Ki18:18).

The sanctuary where the stone tablets were placed since the ark (Ex25:22).
Reminded the Israelites of the God who spoke to their forefathers.
Thus a memorial that gave them pride as the people of God.

Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days” (Jn2:19), because
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body,
God who spoke through the angels (Ac7:53; He2:2) and the prophets will
Now speak directly through the Son (Mt17:1-5; He1:1),
The incarnate Word from the beginning (Jn1:1, 14)
The words for those who have ears to hear, for any soul (Mt11:13-15; Mk4:9, 23).

As He died, He said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1) Only listened to the Father’s word and obeyed it (Jn10:18);
2) Judged the devil the liar (Ge3:4-6; Jn8:43-47; 1Jn3:8); and
3) Through the death of the last Adam tore down the wall of sin of the first Adam (Eph2:14), and
sprinkled His blood, the life-giving spirit to all men (Jn1:14; 1Co15:45), opening the
ears of their souls to hear again.

He was raised and is seated on the heavenly throne
Until He returns to judge the living and the dead by the words He spoke (Jn12:48; 2Ti4:1).

The Counselor the Holy Spirit whom He sent comes
To those who received the name Yeshua, His word, and thus life, and
Speaks to the churches today the words He spoke (Jn14:23-26) which are
For repentance, the promise of reward for those who overcome (Rev2-3),
All absolutely impractical, irrelevant to this life
Yet move the soul’s ears that are alive to hear (He4:12).

The man of the Spirit has
The blessed ears that hear the Word spoken since the beginning (Mt13:16-17),
Discern the words for the soul from those that are not (1Co2:11-14).
Therefore, he repents when he is rebuked, obeys and submits when commanded and
Preaches the word for the soul (Mk16:15-20) for
He longs to discern and hear the word to rise when the Lord returns (Jn5:24-25).

O Lord,
We have heard so many words since the day we were born
But only by hearing the Word in the beginning our souls became alive!
Let us only hear the words that our souls desperately yearn to hear and
Move according to them! Amen.
