For the Lord, For My Soul
(Mt6:19-24)

God exists for Himself (Ge22:8).
For Himself He created all things and works.
He rewards with all things those who live for Him and His Word (Mk10:29-30).

Faith is believing in Him and
The life of this faith is for the Lord, for my soul, laying up treasures in heaven.

While some live for their nation, people, society, family, success, happiness, or health,
There are those who donate their valuables for others, for which they are admired by the world.
The Bible, however, praises those who lay up treasures for their souls for
God exists for Himself and works for Himself.

After Adam sinned, all men had to toil to eat, only to return to dust (Ge3:19),
Making all effort therefore meaningless (Ecc2:17-23).

According to God’s word, “Make yourself an ark” (Ge6:14),
Noah and his family invested their materials and were were saved from the flood (He11:7).

The Passover, which the descendants of Israel observed for generations (Ex13:8-9), was
For the work that God did for Himself before the exodus:
Lambs died in place of the firstborns and their lives were spared because of the blood (Ex12:13).

In spite of the fact that the sanctuary which God instructed them to build was
“For Me” (God) but also “for the Israelites” (Ex25:8, 25:22), however,
They made for themselves an idol and angered God who put them to death (Ex32:33-35).

When referring to the Temple of Jerusalem, which was built with the best materials (Mt24:1),
Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days” (Jn2:19), and
Angered the Jews who eventually passed Him over to death (Mt27:22).
However, through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body,
He would build a greater temple not in the name of Jehovah for the flesh and blood but
In the name of the Father, Yeshua (Jn5:43) for the souls of men.

As He died, He said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1) Willingly gave His life as the Lamb of God to the Father who prepared for Him the material
and the spiritual worlds, the throne and dominions (Jn10:17-18; Col1:16; He1:2);
2) Condemned the devil who attempted to lift himself up (Is14:12-15; 1Jn3:8); and
3) As the Passover Lamb died in place of the souls of men (1Co5:7).

He resurrected and ascended to the heavenly throne and
All bow down before Him (Php2:9-11).

The Holy Spirit whom He sent in the name Yeshua (Jn14:26)
Lets those who know that they are souls
Live only for the Lord who died for them and the gospel (Mk10:29; 1Co12:3).

The Christian is he who
Knows that he cannot serve both God and mammon (materials) (Mt6:19-24).
Thus, unlike the the rich man who stored up treasures on earth for his flesh
But nothing for his spirit (Lk12:26-31),
He shares the gospel with the poor (Lk4:18-19),
Lays up in heaven his precious treasures which he gained by toils,
Receiving a hundred fold in this life and eternal life in the age to come (Mk10:29-30), for
He longs to be pulled up to heaven where his treasures are
When the Lord Yeshua appears in the air.

O Lord,
Though the world is steeped in the idolatry of money and gold, mammonism,
Thank you for allowing me the faith to lay up my treasure in heaven for the Lord, for my soul.
Let us all be content with daily bread and
Let us invest without holding back in the “corporation” of Yeshua which
Guarantees a return of a hundred, a thousand or a hundred thousand fold in this life and
Eternal life in the age to come! Amen.
