Become A New Man
(Lk17:20-30; Col3:1-10)

God is the Maker.
According to His plan before the creation He made all things and
He will take those whom He wants on the last day.

Faith is knowing Him and believing Him and
The life of this faith is becoming the man that He wants.

Science defines man as a bipedal primate mammal,
Distinguished among animals as being highly evolved according to the theory of evolution.
However, the Bible says that man was made by an intelligent source and design:
God made man in His image, in the image of God He made him (Ge1:27).

Furthermore, he was also made as a person like God,
Having intelligence, emotion and free will, the capacity to advance civilization
While having conscience allowed him to develop morals and ethics.

During the time of Noah, with a deluge
God wiped from the face of the earth men whom He made along with all animals (Ge6:5-13) for
They had given up being like men and rather lived like animals.
However, since Noah was blameless and built an ark following God’s instructions,
He and his family were saved.

The Law given to the Israelites standardized the conscience of all mankind
To the conscience of God:
The commandments were ethics regarding God and ethics regarding men.
It severely punished those who made images and bowed down to them (Ex20:4-5) and
Those who uncovered the nakedness of their relatives (Lev18:6-23, 20:11-21) for
Such practices were the corruption of the image of God.

The sanctuary where the stone tablets of the Ten Commandments were
Inside the ark of the testimony reminded them this for generations.

Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days” (Jn2:19), because
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body,
He would reveal God as an image for He is the image of the invisible God (Jn1:18; 2Co4:4; Col1:15),
Though this would be considered by the Jews as deification of image.

Although Yeshua fasted for 40 days
He defeated the devil’s temptation to turn stones into bread (Mt4:1-4).
To those who wanted to know about Him
He stressed that He was not a ghost or an angel but the Son of Man (Mt17:22; Lk17:22-30) for
Like man He was born and like man He lived,
Like man He would die and as man He would live again.

Surpassing the extreme pains and shame, senses and emotions,
He died but said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1) Became the man that the Father wants (Jn10:17-18, 12:23-24);
2) Judged the devil who forgot that he was a creature (Is14:12-15; Jude1:6); and
3) In place of men became a sinner and with His blood made them a new creation (2Co5:17).

He resurrected and revealed the image of the heavenly man (1Co15:47-49) and
Ascended to the heavenly throne.

The Holy Spirit whom He sent from there is
The person of God, the character of Christ, and the conscience of the Son of Man.
He lets believers become new men.

The Christian is he who has a clear conscience (2Ti1:3).
In order to bear the image of the One who made him (Rm8:29; Gal4:19),
He puts every effort to put to death
Whatever belongs to his earthly nature — sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, greed,
anger, rage, malice, slander and filthy language (Col3:1-10) —
So that on the day of the Son of Man he would be found blameless before Him.

O Lord,
Before the character and the life of the Son of Man Yeshua
I am just so ashamed…
In the New Year 2018
I want to become a new man, a man who bears the image of Yeshua.
Let me become a man! Amen.
