I Am A Servant
(Rm6:15-23; Jas1:1)

God is the Lord.
By His Word He made all things and became their Owner (Ps119:91), and
To those who have become His servants, He gives eternal life through the Word (Rm6:22).

Faith is knowing that God alone is the Lord and I am His servant, and
The life of this faith is submitting to His Word.

While “lord” refers to a commander who
Exercises absolute ownership rights,
“Servant” or “slave” refers to someone who belongs to another without any ownership rights.

God supplies life to those who have become His servants
By the Word in the form of command (Jn6:63, 68, 12:50).
Accordingly, those who receive His command must have dual free will.
While a servant has the freedom to choose, once he chooses he has no right to disobey.

The reason why the heavens and the earth still exist to this day (He1:3) is because
All things and all men are the Lord’s servants (Ps119:91; Jer25:9).
Since being deceived by the serpent Adam broke the command regarding the fruit (Ge2:17, 3:4-6),
All men became slaves of the devil destined to follow him to hell (Mt25:41; 2Pe2:19).

Joseph was sold as a slave to Egypt (Ps105:17) which became
The impetus for Israel’s slavery in Egypt.
Following God’s instructions Moses executed the exodus and
The Israelites went from being servants of the pharaoh to those of the Lord.

The sanctuary where the name Jehovah, and the statues and the laws were (1Ki8:16, 58)
Reminded them for generations (Dt16:12): “Jehovah = Lord” and “Israel = His servants.”
In other words, they were to remember that Jehovah made them (Is44:21) and that
He delivered them while they were slaves in Egypt (Ex20:2).

In spite of this, however, they went astray and thus the prophet spoke of
The servant in whom God delights (Is42:1),
The righteous servant who will bear their iniquities (Is53:11).

Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days” (Jn2:19-20), because
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body,
He would make a way for all men to
Willingly becoming servants of God, Yeshua (Jas1:1),
Not being deceived like Adam or doing by force like Israel,
In the Father’s name Yeshua (Jn5:43) not the name Jehovah,
Keeping the Word of Yeshua, not the Law of Moses.

He is the very nature God who took the form of a servant (Php2:6-8),
The Creator, the Owner, the Lord God who came as the Son of Man (Mt16:16; Jn1:1-3, 14).

As He died, Yeshua said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1) Acknowledged that the Father alone is Lord who brought Him to submission (Jn10:18, 12:50; Php2:6-11);
2) Judged the devil who left his position of servant on his own (Is14:12-15; Jude1:6); and
3) Gave Himself as a ransom for those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death (1Ti2:6; He2:15).

He resurrected and ascended to heaven.
He sat on the throne becoming the Lord of lords (Rev19:16).

The Holy Spirit comes to the souls of those who
In the past were slaves to sin (Jn8:34; Rm6:20) but
Now have been ransomed by Yeshua (1Ti2:6) and lets them know:
“Yeshua = my Lord” and “I am His servant.”

The Christian is he who decided to
Willingly become a servant of righteousness (Rm6:19) and
Puts effort to become an obedient slave to be led to righteousness
Knowing that he is a slave of the obedient slave (Rm6:16).
Therefore, he surrenders his personal plans, life, possessions and
Becomes a good and faithful servant so that
Like the cold of snow in the time of harvest
He may refresh the soul of his Master who gave Himself as a ransom for him (Pr25:13) and
Finally enter into the joy of his Master — eternal life (Mt25:23).

O Lord,
Let none of us become those who only give lip service saying, “Lord, Lord” (Mt7:21-23).
Let us repent for being wicked and lazy servants.
Let us live worthy of the price You paid for us, worth more than millions…
I am a servant of Yeshua! Amen.
