I Am A Freedman
(Jn8:32; 1Co7:20-24)

God is the God of truth (Ps31:5).
Though the Word of truth He gives birth to children (Jas1:18) and
He brings His children into the freedom of glory (Rm8:21).

Faith is knowing that I am a freedman and
The life of this faith is being released from what once bound (Rm7:6), and enjoying and
proclaiming the freedom (Jn8:32; Lev25:10).

Freedom is sought and loved by everyone.
After Adam the ancestor of all men was deceived by the devil and sinned (Ge2:17, 3:4-6),
All men became slaves of the devil held in slavery by their fear of death (He2:15),
Following the ways of this world and the ruler of the kingdom of the air (Eph2:2).

God delivered Israel through Moses and
From being servants of the pharaoh they became the servants of Jehovah (Ps113:1).
Those who wanted to return to being servants of Egypt, however, were
All struck dead in the desert (Nu14:4, 14:37).

The sanctuary reminded them of the name Jehovah (1Ki8:16) who
Broke the bar of their yoke and delivered them from their slavery (Lev26:13),
While the Law instructed them to set free their servants (Ex21:2-5; Lev25:10).

However, because they ignored it (Jer34:1, 17) they had to pay the price:
Their kingdoms fell; their kings were bound with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron; and
They were taken as captives (Ps149:8; Na3:10).
Thus, they longed for the appearance of the Messiah who would
Break their yoke from their neck and tear their shackles away (Na1:13; Is61:1).

Yeshua came and said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days” (Jn2:19), because
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body,
He would break the shackles of not the flesh but the spirit
Not in the name Jehovah but in the Father’s name Yeshua (Jn5:43) and set all men free for
He is the Son of God who came as the Truth (Jn1:1, 14, 8:32-34, 14:6).
As such, He set free those held by demons (Mk5:2-13) and
Raised back to life those bound by death (Jn11:43).

Yet He was sold at the price of thirty pieces of silver (Mt26:15) and died.
As He died, however, He said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1) Kept the commandments and willingly became the Father’s servant (Jn10:17; Php2:7);
2) Judged the devil who forgot that he was a creature, a servant (Ps119:91; Jude1:6); and
3) In place of men, was bound into a yoke of sin and tore His flesh and set them free (La1:14; Na1:13).

The Father raised Him up and He sat on the heavenly throne as
The eternally freed (Ac2:24).

The Holy Spirit whom He sent
Proclaims freedom to the whole world and
Lets those redeemed by the blood of Yeshua know the true freedom (2Co3:17).
The Christian is he who has been called to be free (Gal5:13) and
Thus has willingly become a free slave of Christ (Ex21:2-5).
He speaks and does according to the perfect law that gives freedom (Jas1:25, 2:12), and
Serves in the new way of the Spirit (Rm7:6) for
The Truth sets him from all that bind:
The past — sins, the consciousness of sins, mistakes and hurts;
The present — the ways in the world, its customs and competitions; and
The future — poverty, sickness, worries and anxieties etc.
The Word of the truth breaks the chains of the past and the future and
Lets there be only “this day” (Mt6:11).

O Lord,
Let us know the Truth You gave
Tearing apart Your flesh
To break our chains to
Money, pride, competition, fleshly desires, anxieties and the ways of the world.
Let us enjoy this freedom and proclaim it to the whole world! Amen.
I am a freedman!
