The Way of the Lord
(Ps84:1-7; Mt3:1-12)

God has a will.
Before the creation He made His will,
Before the creation He decided His way and
He dwells eternally with those who walk His way, the blameless way (Ps101:6).

As the Bible records the way of the Lord,
All events, history, people in it
Prepared the way and made straight paths for Him (Is40:3-5; Lk3:4-5).
While no bird of prey knows that hidden path, no falcon’s eye has seen it (Job28:7),
Faith can see His way in the whirlwind and the storm (Na1:3).

As such, faith is knowing the way of the Lord and one’s own path, and
The life of this faith is even if there are troubles and hardships
Completing my path no matter what (Ac20:22-24).

While roads are critical for planning a city construction, building structure, military strategy,
The process of paving a road involves sacrifice of many lives, thus
Calling it a “blood road” would not be an exaggeration.

Deceived by the devil Adam sinned and was banished from the Garden (Ge3:24).
No man thereafter could find his way to the tree of life.

After the exodus, God led the Israelites by the pillars of fire and clouds
Into the Red Sea and the wilderness (Ex13:21).
The waters saw the Lord for His way through the sea (Ps77:16, 19).

The ark of the covenant went before them seeking for a resting place (Nu10:33), and
The way the ark went dried-up ever-flowing streams (Ps74:15).
However, because of their difficult way they became disheartened (Nu21:4; Dt1:40, 2:1-3) and
The Law taught them the way to live (Ex18:20; Ps119:105) but
Almost all of them died without crossing the Jordan.

According to the prophecy (Is43:19)
The messenger of the Lord who would prepare the way before He came (Mal3:1):
John the Baptist who baptized sinners to repent (Mt3:2-6).

Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days” (Jn2:19), because
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body,
He would become the way to the Father’s house (Jn14:4-6) for
The Word became flesh and came as the Son of Man to do the Father’s will (Jn4:34, 6:38).
So He went boldly to Jerusalem where death awaited Him for
His way is the king’s highway (Lk13:33, 21:7).

As He died, He said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1) Completed the way of the Son of Man and fulfilled the Father’s will decided in the beginning,
before the creation (from the Father’s bosom —> the cross —> resurrection —> the Father’s house);
2) Judged the devil who challenged His royal authority (Is14:12-15, 26:8); and
3) Tore the veil His flesh and opened a new and living way for all men (He10:20).

He resurrected and sat on the heavenly throne and
The Holy Spirit whom He sent lets the way of the Lord be known (1Co2:10-11).

He whose heart is bound by the Spirit is
He in whose heart are the King’s highways to Zion (Ps84:5-7).
Therefore, to go before the Father in the end
Even if there is trouble or chains along the way
He never turns back.
Even if death awaits he puts effort to complete the task of testifying the gospel (Ac20:24) for
The men of the Old Testament became the way to the cross of Yeshua,
While the men of the New Testament put effort to become the way
For the given souls to reach the air on the day the Lord comes back (Jn6:38-40).

O Lord,
How the cows that left behind their calves (1Sa6:8-12)
Pulled the ark of the covenant straight to Beth Shemesh, lowing all the way!
If such animals knew their way and went,
Let me and all You have given me who received the Spirit
Know the King’s highway and go the way,
Even as we weep all the way until arriving at Your house (Ps84:5-7)! Amen.
