Remain In the Lord

God is the Lord of life (Ac3:15).
Life comes from Him and
To those who are attached to Him He supplies life.

Faith is loving life and
The life of this life is putting effort to remain attached to Him and bearing fruit.

The branch and the vine cannot be separated for they have a life relationship.
If the branch remains attached to the vine
It receives sap from the tree and so it lives and bears fruit,
Giving glory to God and whatever asked is received —
This is central to the gospel.

Despite the fact that Adam, the living spirit, was to live by
The life-giving spirit, that is, the word of God (Ge2:7, 17; Jn6:63),
He was wedged by the devil (dia-bolos) and took the forbidden fruit (Ge3:4-6).
Death entered as the result of his sin (Rm5:12) and he was driven out of the Garden (Ge3:22-24).

The Bible reveals the principle of remaining in the word of God
Through various events.

Noah and his family built an ark according to the word of God and
Remained in the ark for 370 days (Ge7:11, 22, 8:13-14),
Surviving the deluge that wiped out every creature that breathed through its nostrils.

For on the night of the Passover
The Israelites remained inside their homes with the blood of lamb (Ex12:22-23),
They survived the calamity of the death of every first born.
Then, they followed the pillars of fire and of clouds and
Survived the wilderness for 40 years.

Under the Law, even a manslayer could live
As long he remained in a city of refuge with the high priest who could defend him (Nu35:26-28).

Furthermore, the sinner could live by sprinkling blood on the altar inside the sanctuary for
The life of the flesh is in the blood and
The blood makes atonement for one’s life (Lev17:11; Nu27:16).

Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days” (Jn2:19-22), for
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of HIs body,
He would give life, that is, His blood, to the living spirit (Jn6:56) for
He is the Word that became flesh (Jn1:4, 14),
The last Adam, the life-giving spirit (1Co15:45-48).

As He died, He said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1) Died according to the Father’s command in order to receive life back (Jn10:17-18);
2) Judged the ruler of death, the devil who left his proper domain (He2:15; Jude1:6); and
3) With His blood redeemed the sins all men and gave life (Eph1:7).

He is the Lord of life who resurrected (Ac3:15).
The throne in heaven where the Lamb is seated (Rev22:1-2) is from where
The river of the water of life flows out to this day and
It is the Holy Spirit of life whom the believers receive (Jn7:38).

The man of the Spirit is he who
Regardless fo the temptations clings to the church with all his life for
He knows that the church is the tree of life and
Strives to follow the Lamb wherever He goes (Rev14:4).
He drinks the sap of the Word and bears fruit
Giving glory to the Father and
While on earth receiving answers to whatever he asks.

O Lord,
We are branches that cannot live apart from the vine!
Let not even one of us fall away from this tree of life.
Let us diligently bear the fruit of life and
Finally go before the Lord and taste life forever! Amen.
