He Who Builds the Church of Yeshua
(Mt16:13-20)

God is the Master Builder.
He Himself designs His house and
He dwells with those who build His house with Him.

Faith is welcoming Him and longing for Him and
The life of this faith is making the greatest effort to build the house of God, that is, the church of Yeshua.

Architecture is an appealing work of art and science as
While it is driven by need and necessity to make shelters for people and communities,
It also expresses and materializes one’s dreams and desires.
Although the world competes to defy gravity and build taller, stronger and more beautifully,
In reality, however, no building lasts forever as
All things in the world in their present form are passing away (1Co7:31).

The Bible records the story of buildings:
The ark that Noah and his family built for 70 years;
The Tabernacle that Moses and Israel built in the wildness for a year (Ex40:17); and
The Temple of Jerusalem that Solomon and the people built in seven years (1Ki6:38).
The result of building according to God’s design and instructions (Ex40:18-33) was that
They were saved from the deluge and
Received the covenant that God would dwell in their midst (Ex25:8-9).

Referring to the Temple that the Jews boasted as
A building second to none in the history of mankind,
Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days,”
For which He was hated by them and eventually passed over to death (Mt26:61).
However, through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body (Jn2:19-22),
He would raise the greatest building, His church (Mt16:18) because
He is greater than the temple (Mt12:6) for He is the incarnate Word who made all things (Jn1:3, 14)

According to His prophecy,
The Temple of Jerusalem fell around 70 AD, without a stone remaining (Mt24:1-2; Lk21:5-6).

When He died, the temple veil tore (Lk27:5) and
He said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1) Sprinkled His blood and completed the true heavenly sanctuary for the Father (He9:21-25);
2) Judged the devil who desecrated the heavenly sanctuary (Eze28:18; 1Jn3:8); and
3) With His blood cleansed souls to make them God’s temple (1Co3:16; He9:21-22).

He resurrected and ascended to heaven, the true sanctuary.

The Holy Spirit whom He sent
Comes to the church purchased by the blood of God (Ac20:28), that is, His own house.
It is a living building, a spiritual house built
By souls made living stones by His blood (1Pe2:4-5),
On the pillar and the foundation of the immutable truth (1Ti3:15),
That Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God (Mt16:16),
The rock (petra) that cannot be shaken (He12:28).
Thus the gates of Hades cannot prevail it (Mt16:18).

The disciple of Yeshua is he who
Supports fellow members to be joined, to grow and to be built together
In the whole building where Yeshua is the cornerstone (Eph2:20-22).
Therefore, with a sense of pride,
He pours out his best and makes his greatest effort (1Co3:9-15) for
It is his dream to be found as belonging to
The church the bride prepared for her Groom Christ to welcome Him when He returns and
Forever dwell with Him in His tent, receiving His comfort (Rev21:1-4).

O Lord,
Thank You for building the Church of Jesus here on earth 35 years ago!
’Til Your return
Let us pour all out,
Not holding back any sweat, tear or sacrifice so
We can leave behind the church of truth, a living building to the next generation. Amen.
