Render To the Lord the Things That are the Lord’s

God is the Owner of all things (Ps24:1, 100:3).
All things come from Him and return to Him (Rm11:36) and
He lets those who render to Him the things that are His return to Him.

Faith is acknowledging Him and
The life of this faith is rendering to the Lord the things that are His.

While throughout the history of mankind, from primitive societies of hunters and gatherers,
To feudalism, monarchy to capitalism and communism,
The issue of ownership has been tested and fought for to this day,
The Bible teaches who the Owner of all things is and that men must return to Him (Ha2:8).

Even if one receives things after toiling all his life
The moment he returns to dust everything is lost (Ge3:19; Ps90:3-10) for
The ancestor of all mankind Adam was deceived by the devil and sinned (Ge3:4-6) and
Became his slave losing his right of possession (2Pe2:19).

Returning from the defeat of his enemies Abraham gave thanks
By giving a tenth of the plunder to the priest of God (Ge14:16-20; He7:1-4),

As Jacob was spending the night during his escape (Ge28:21-22)
He vowed to give a tenth of everything if he were to return to his father’s household safely.
When he was told by God to return home after 20 years
He had become a wealthy man (Ge31:3-13, 32:9-12).

When his descendants, the Israelites, were being delivered from their slavery
They left with the treasures of Egypt (Ex12:36, 40-41) and
Entered the land that God swore to their ancestors (Ex33:1).

After wandering in the desert for 40 years almost all of the people died in the desert because
They rebelled to return to Egypt (Nu14:3-33).
However, the very few people of faith and the new generation of people born in the desert
Entered the promised land
Having the sanctuary as the mark.

While the Temple of Jerusalem was the mark for the Israelites to return to (1Ch29:14-18),
The prophet cried out for the people to examine themselves for their repeated captivity (La3:40) and
Return to the Lord (Hos6:1; Zec1:3) for
They had robbed what belonged to the LORD: in tithes and offerings (Mal3:7-10).

Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days,” because
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body (Jn2:19-22),
He would become the way for all souls to return to not Canaan but the Father’s house (Jn14:6) for
He is the Word who was in the bosom of the Father in the beginning who
Became flesh, the only begotten Son (Jn1:1, 14, 18).
He said, while that which has the image of Caesar was to be returned to Caesar (Mt22:21),
That which has the image of God must be returned to God (Ge1:27).

As He died, He said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1) Came from the Father and was returning to the Father (Jn1:18; Lk23:46);
2) Judged the devil the thief (Jn10:8; 1Jn3:8); and
3) With His blood purchased all souls and returned them to the Father (Rev5:9).

He resurrected and ascended to heaven, becoming
The Owner of all things (M28:19).

The Holy Spirit lets those who have been purchased by the blood of Yeshua
Know that their souls, flesh, time, knowledge, experience, talents, material etc
All belong to the Lord (1Co6:19, 12:3).

Therefore, the Christian puts effort to
Give to the Lord what came from the Lord and
Do it joyfully (1Ch29:14) for
There is only one wholehearted wish for him, that is
To return to the Father’s house.

O Lord,
This life that comes naked and returns naked (Ecc5:15, 12:7)!
Let us for our whole life
Render to You what is Your own and
In that day let the treasures laid in heaven become like a giant magnet (Mt6:20) and
Pull all of us up, so none will remain on earth
But all enter the Father’s house! Amen.
