The Word Spoken By the Lord

God is the God of revelation.
Through the Word He reveals His existence, His will and His plan, and
He testifies His Word through signs (Mk16:20).

Faith is hearing the word spoken by the Lord and believing it.
The life of this faith is not ignoring but paying the most careful attention to the word one heard.

All human communication, relationships, actions etc are done through language.
The matter of success and failure for humans is determined by
Whose word they listen to.

While the Bible indicates that from the beginning all things listened to the word of God,
The tragedy of all men, however, began in the Garden of Eden
When Adam did not listen to God’s word and took the forbidden fruit.
This was because he listened to Eve who listened to the cunning serpent, the devil (Ge3:1, 4-6).

Noah, on the other hand, listened to God’s word and built an ark (Ge6:17-22) so
While all men were wiped away by a deluge he was saved (He11:7).

Lot listened to the angel’s word that warned of the coming destruction (Ge19:13) and
So escaped the city of Sodom and was saved.

The Israelites who heard the word of Moses as the word of God (Ex20:19)
Witnessed great trials and signs the Lord showed (Dt29:2-3) and thus were
Saved from the death of the firstborns and delivered from Egypt.

The tablets of the Testimony inside the ark of the Testimony of the sanctuary
Testified that Moses spoke with Jehovah (Ex23:29, 34:29), for which
They understood themselves as the holy people of God (Dt4:33).
Because of the false prophets, however, the curse against them continued (Eze13:9, 22:28).

Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again three days,” because
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body (Jn2:19-22),
God who spoke exclusively to a chosen people
In the name Jehovah through the angel and the prophets (Ex3:55; Ac7:35), would
Now speak through the Son to all men in the last days (He1:1).
As such, the winds, the sick, the demons and even the dead
Listened to His word (Mt8:26-27, 9:6; Mk1:25-27; Jn11:43-44).

As He died, He said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1) Died according to the Father’s word which He listened to in the beginning (Jn1:1, 14, 10:18);
2) Judged the devil the liar (Ge3:4-6; Jn8:44; 1Jn3:8); and
3) Redeemed all men from sin, hell and the devil.

He resurrected and sat on the heavenly throne and
By His word He judges the living and the dead (Jn12:48; 2Ti4:1).

The Holy Spirit whom He sent is the Spirit of truth who
Reminds the believers of the word spoken by the Lord, that is, the truth (Jn14:24, 26).

The witness of Yeshua is he who testifies about:
1) Yeshua, who is He? — His nature — God (Mt16:16; Jn1:1; Php2:6);
2) Yeshua, what did He do? — with His body — His death and resurrection (1Pe2:24); and
3) Yeshua, what did He say? The truth — hell, the resurrection of condemnation, the spiritual punishment etc (Mt25:41; Mk9:43; Jn5:23, 28-29, 12:48);

In other words, so great a salvation which
God also testifies to it by signs, wonders and various miracles (He2:4).

O Lord,
There are so many who speak the words of angels, of Moses and of men
From the pulpit which You purchased with Your blood.
Let us, however, even to the point of spitting blood,
Only testify the word spoken by the Lord.
Let us have the ears to hear what the Spirit says to the churches (Re2:7) and
Be found as good soil (Lk8:25)! Amen.
