Let the Lord Work
(Is62:7; Mk16:17-20)

The Lord works (Eph1:11).
By His own hands He created all things (Is45:12) and
By the result of the work of His hands He receives glory (Is29:23).

Faith is knowing Him and
The life of this faith is letting the Lord work and giving Him glory.

Across all times and cultures
People generally do not like labor and so want to avoid it.
Even among idols they tend to prefer those that are seated restfully.

The Bible, however, introduces God as He who works:
His own hands created the heavens, the earth and all mankind (Is45:12),
With His mighty hand He destroyed Egypt (Dt2:15) and brought Israel out of Egypt (Ex32:11), and
He led them to conquer Canaan (Ex33:14) for
They were called the Lord’s people, the Lord’s servants (Neh1:10).

The sanctuary where the stone tablets inscribed by the finger of God (Dt9:10) were
Reminded them of what God did with His hands and that they were made by His hands.
However, because they had no regard for the deeds of the Lord,
They were eventually brought down (Ps28:5).

Yet through the prophet God counseled them to
Ask the Lord to not rest and to not give Him rest (Is45:11, 62:7).

Finally, Yeshua came and said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days” (Jn2:19),
Because through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body,
He would put to end all deeds done with hands and
Work with His own body (1Pe2:24) for
The Most High Himself would bear the iniquities of men and establish Zion (Ps87:5; Ps53:11).
He is the Word in the beginning who made all things (Jn1:1-3), who became flesh (Jn1:14).

Driven by the Spirit His public life began (Mk1:12) and
For those who pleaded Him to work (Jn2:1-11; Mk4:38)
He did the work of healing and driving out demons (Mt8:16-17; Ac10:38) for
The Father is at His work to this day (Jn5:17).

With His body He was scared, poured out water and blood (1Pe2:24) and
As He died, He said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1) With His body finished the work of the Father (Lk13:32; Jn10:18);
2) Judged the devil the rebel (Is14:12-15; 1Jn3:8); and
3) Bore Himself the sins of men (Is53:11).

He resurrected and sat on the heavenly throne as the Lamb who
Bears the marks of being slain and is forever glorified (Rev5:6).

The Holy Spirit comes to reveal the Lord at work (1Co12:6) and
Lets the souls and the church purchased by His blood (Ac20:28) also do work.
The Christian is he who
Does not cease to pray until he is heard (Lk18:1-8) and
Boldly opens his mouth and testifies the gospel (Mt10:20),
Heals in the name Yeshua as the last resort (Mk16:17-20) for
The Lord is at work to this day (Mt28:20).
Finally, by the result he gives glory to God.

O Lord,
For the Father works, the Son works and the Holy Spirit works,
Let me also work!
For I will do my share of work on this day
Please do Your share of work, Lord! Amen.
