God Is Good
(Lk18:18-23)
God is good. br>
His essence is good, and His will, His word and His deeds that come from Him are all good. br>
Through His own sacrifice, He gives good gifts (Mt7:11) and br>
To those who do good, He gives the resurrection to life (Jn5:29). br>
br>
Faith is believing that God alone is good (Lk18:19) and br>
The life of this faith is imitating Him who is good, and speaking and doing good br(Eph4:28-29; 3Jn1:11). br>
br>
The general definition of good and evil in the world is in moral terms: br>
Good — factors that are good to others; br>
Evil — factors that are harmful to others. br>
The Bible, however, speaks of the goodness of God. br>
Creation was the means to reveal it: br>
Darkness reveals light, death reveals life, evil reveals good (Is45:7; Rm8:38-39). br>
br>
The tree of the knowledge of good and evil which causes many doubts is actually br>
The key to unlock the mystery of the Bible. br>
Deceived by the devil, Adam ate it, and sin and death entered (Ge2:17, 3:4-6) but br>
By that, men can now have the same experience as the Son, one of the Trinity br>
In knowing good and evil, that is, experience death and life (Ge3:22) for br>
It was done according to the good will of God (Job9:24). br>
br>
For Adam was created to have the cravings of the flesh (Eph2:3), br>
He was deceived by the origin of sin, the devil, and sinned (1Jn3:8, 12). br>
Thus, all men became servants of the devil and the wicked who do evil (Mi7:2-4). br>
br>
The Law was good doctrine that Israel received (Pr4:2). br>
If they kept it they were righteous, but the guilty were condemned (Dt25:1). br>
They lived around the Temple that reminded them this but br>
They eventually fell because they worshiped idols (2Ki7:11), deceived their neighbors, br>
Mistreated the widows and the fatherless and did all kinds of evils (Job22:9; Jer9:5) br>
br>
Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days,” because br>
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body (Jn2:19-21), br>
He would tear down the good words of Jehovah spoken through the angel (Zec1:3) and br>
He would do according to the Father’s good words spoken through the Son for br>
He is the good One who was in the bosom of the Father in the beginning (Jn1:18, 46). br>
His public life that was with the Holy Spirit and power was about doing good, that is, br>
Healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with Him (Ac10:38). br>
br>
Anyone who wants eternal life must, not by his own doing a bit of good works (Mt6:2-4; Lk18:18-23), br>
But by first realizing that he is a sinner through the Law (Rm7:12-18) and br>
Believe Yeshua, become righteous and follow the good shepherd (Jn10:10-11). br>
br>
As He died, He said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that: br>
1) The Father alone does good to the point of giving the one and only Son; br>
2) He judged the devil, the thief, the evil one (Jn10:8-9; 1Jn3:8); and br>
3) For all men He laid down His life to lead them to the good path (Jn10:11). br>
br>
In the beginning — the Word — the good God — became flesh: br>
— Laid down His life — the good work only God can do; br>
— His blood — for all men — gave the best, life (Mt7:11). br>
br>
He resurrected and ascended to heaven, and He is the Lamb who sat on the throne for br>
Those who are thirsty can come and take the free gift of the river of the water of life (Rev22:17), br>
Which is still flowing out of the scars on His body (Rev22:1). br>
br>
The believer is he who was created to do good works (Eph2:10) and br>
The Holy Spirit lets him who has the blood of Yeshua, the good genes inside him br>
Have a good conscience, a good heart (He13:18). br>
br>
The Christian is he who no longer does what is evil (Rm6:12; Eph4:28-29; 1Pe1:14, 4:2) and br>
Feels uncomfortable about having two shirts, abundant possession (Lk3:11) and br>
Does good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers (Lk12:33; Gal6:10). br>
By preaching out of goodwill, he does the best work, the work of saving souls (Php1:15), that is, br>
The work of leading the souls outside the sheep pen to the good shepherd (Jn10:16). br>
br>
O Lord, br>
Selfishness, covetousness, indifference, heartlessness, stinginess… br>
In the past, I was the worst of all wicked, caring only about myself. br>
Now, I am concerned for doing good works. br>
Teach me how could I do good works that please God more. br>
When leaving this world, let us all be led by the good shepherd and br>
Go to the river of the water of life! Amen. br>
