God Will Not Surpass the Command
(Jn12:44-50)

God is the Lord of all (1Ti6:15).
He commanded all things and created them and rules over them (Ps148:5), and
To those who receive His word as command and obey He gives eternal life (Jn12:50).

Faith is knowing “God=Lord=Head=Commander” and
The life of this faith is keep submitting to and obeying the command of Christ.

While to obey means to know and move, to submit means to move even when not knowing fully.
Yet no human likes to be commanded,
Especially today with the influence of humanism and liberalism in the family and the schools.

Nevertheless, the Bible reveals the Word who was in the beginning as command (Jn1:1, 12:49)
As it was planned for the one who commands and the one who is commanded to have
A relationship as Lord and His servant.

While evolution insists that the universe was born as a very hot dense, single point in space,
Growing to what it is today over a long period of time,
Creation says that in the beginning God commanded all the starry hosts (Is45:12) and
At once all things came to be (Ge1:3) and
To this day they are in their places for all things are servants of the Lord (Ps119:91).

For angels, if they keep their proper positions they live
But if they sin, judgement and punishment awaits (He2:16; 2Pe2:4; Jude1:6).
The living being, on the other hand, if he obeys he lives but if he sins he dies (Ge2:7, 17).
However, if he obeys again he can live again (Mt26:27) for this is how he was made:
The spiritual being that has flesh.

The history of the Old Testament is dotted with stories of those who obeyed Jehovah (the LORD):
Noah (Ge6:22), Abraham (Ge22:17-18), Israel during the exodus (Ex12:28),
Moses building the Tabernacle (Ex40:16) etc all did according to what the LORD commanded.
When the Israelites obeyed salvation, growth, blessing and victory were given
But when they did not obey what they were commanded, destruction came (Jer42:21-22).

Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days,” because
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body (Jn2:19-21),
Not Jehovah’s command but in the Father’s name (Jn5:43) He Himself would command for
He is the Word of the command in the beginning who became flesh (Jn1:1-2, 14) and
As such, He showed signs during His public life:
Turned water to wine (Jn2:3-5), calmed the storm (Mk4:39), fed thousands (Mk6:37, 41),
Drove out demons (Mk1:24-27), healed the paralytic (Mt9:6-7), filled up an empty boat (Lk5:4-8),
Healed the centurion’s servant (Mt8:6-23), walked on water (Mt14:28-29),
Raised the dead (Jn11:43-44) etc.

As He died, He said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1) Laid down His life according to the Father’s command (Jn10:18, 12:48);
2) Judged the devil who left his proper position (Is14:12-15; Jude1:6); and
3) Sprinkled His redeeming blood on all men (Eph1:7),

He resurrected and sat on the heavenly throne becoming the greatest commander forever.
The Holy Spirit whom He sent comes
To believers who drank Christ’s blood following His command (Mt26:27) and are
Now under Christ’s law (1Co9:21).
The Holy Spirit commands the command of Christ (Jn14:26) to:
Be baptized (Mt28:19), repent (Mt5:17), gather (Mt18:20; He10:25), keep the Lord’s Day (Rev1:8),
Pray (Jn14:13-14), serve (Php3:3) etc.

The Christian knows that
He is a servant of Yeshua His Lord, His Ruler and
Receiving His command and submitting to it is the way for a servant to live.
Therefore, putting effort to deny himself daily (Lk9:23),
He is always where he is supposed to be, doing what he is supposed to be doing.
He follows the counseling of the pastor
For the pastor is an overseer appointed by the Spirit (Ac20:28), the Lord’s servant.
When the Lord Yeshua Christ returns and commands, “Rise up!” (1Th4:16-17),
He longs to be ready to say, “Amen” and obey for the last time.

O Lord,
Though in the past I was a rebel
Never listening to my parents or teachers, doing whatever I wanted to do…
Now You are my Lord, my Ruler and
Whatever You command me I will do!
Lord, crush any sense of rebellion, disobedience, stubbornness or pride in me!
Lord, command me! This servant will listen. Amen.
