The Evidence of Salvation
(Php1:27-30)
God is living (Mt16:16).
By signs and miracles He testifies that He lives (He2:4) and
Through the faith that believes that He lives He testifies (He11:1-2).
Faith is being saved through the justification by His blood (Rm5:9), that is,
Having the faith of the gospel (Php1:27) and
The life of this faith is living a life worthy of the gospel.
While there are those who deny the invisible God, heaven and hell
Faith is like a telescope or a microscope
Seeing things others do not and thus testifying accordingly (He11:1-2).
The Bible is the story of the men of faith.
Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear
Built an ark for 70 years and saved his family (Ge5:32, 6:18; He11:7).
Abram, when called, obeyed and left his home country (Ge12:1)
Not knowing where he was going (He11:8), and lived in tents like aliens (He11:9).
He received a son at 100 (Rm4:19) and reasoned that
God can even raise the dead so gave his only son as burnt offering (He11:19).
Moses chose to be mistreated along with the people of God (He11:24),
Not fearing the king’s anger, carried out the exodus, and
Led the people in the wilderness for 40 years for
He persevered because he saw Him who is invisible (He11:24).
Many more ancients of faith all obtained a good testimony through faith (He11:39).
The name of the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob,
The living God Jehovah, inside the sanctuary became
A great support to their descendants who lost their sovereignty.
Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days,” because
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body (Jn2:19-21),
Not in the name of Jehovah but in the Father’s name of Yeshua (Jn5:43),
Not like the ancestors of faith who died and faded away
But rising after death He would become
The Lord of faith, the author and the finisher of faith (He12:1).
After He was baptized and received the Holy Spirit, He began His public life during which
He surpassed flesh and blood (Mt12:48) and
Only worked for the will of the Father who sent Him (Jn4:34).
As He died, He said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1) Laid down His life according to the command and testified that the Father lives (Jn10:17-18);
2) Judged the origin of sin the devil (1Jn3:8); and
3) Sprinkled His redeeming blood and opened the way of salvation for all mankind (Eph1:7).
He resurrected, ascended to heaven and He is the Lamb on the throne, and
He became the evidence of salvation (Php1:28; He11:1).
The Holy Spirit whom He sent
Lets those who believed the blood of Yeshua and have been justified (Rm5:9)
Testify the salvation of their souls (Rm8:15-16).
The Christian who, through baptism buried the past and began a new life (Rm6:4)
Lives a life worthy of the gospel (Php1:17):
1) The goal of his life, the way of his thinking, his values, emotions, hobbies, interests, habits etc, that is, his whole life has changed; and
2) He is willing to suffer for the Lord (Php1:29) so
Testifies that Yeshua Christ lives.
O Lord,
Though we have not seen You
We believe that Yeshua Christ lives.
For the Holy Spirit works within us for the salvation of our souls
Let us testify that Yeshua Christ lives.
Like Peter, Paul and countless ancients of faith
Through our changed life!
Ready to endure any hardship!
Let us testify the Lord Yeshua Christ lives! Amen.
