The Holy Spirit Helps Us
(Rm8:26-27)

God is merciful.
He has compassion on those who fear Him (Ps103:13) and
He helps those who cry out to Him.
 
Faith is knowing one’s own weaknesses and longing for His help (Ps27:9, 39:4), and
The life of this faith is completely relying on His help (Ps146:5).
 
For the needy, the weak, the sick, the poor
Whether there is help or not is a world of difference.
The curse of life is when there is no one to help and
Even if you cry out for help, there is no help (Job19:7).
 
While religion is an act of praying to some transcendent being
With one's own wishes and sacrifices,
The Bible clearly states who my help is now and forevermore, that is,
The God who made heaven and earth (Ps121).
 
Since Adam sinned, deceived by the devil (Ge3:4-6, 24),
No man could avoid the hardships and threats of life (Ge4:14).
However, when the Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out for help (Ex2:22-24),
God sent Moses and delivered them from Egypt and
God kept them from all harm during the 40 years in the wilderness because
He knew that men are dust (Ps103:14).
 
Despite the fact that the sanctuary reminded them that
Only Jehovah is their ever-present help in trouble (Ps46:1),
Israel sought other gods who could not help them (Hos13:4, 9) and
Asked for help from other nations (Is30:7, 31:3).
As such, they could not escape curses and disasters.
 
Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days,” because
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body (Jn2:19-21),
He would become the eternal help for the souls of all nations for
God came as the Son of Man (Mt20:28; Jn1:1, 14).
During the three years of His public life,
He daily healed the sick (Mt9:27, 15:22; Mk10:48) and
At times saved those who were in danger (Mk4:37-39) for
He had compassion on those who cried out to Him for help (Mt9:27, 15:22; Mk10:48).
Because He himself was subject to the same weakness (He5:2),
He knows the weaknesses of men (He4:15).
 
As He died, He said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1)    In the most vulnerable moment, looked to the Father for mercy (Ps6:2, 9:13);
2)    Judged the origin of sin, the devil (Ge3:4-6; 1Jn3:8); and
3)    By dying at just the right time, bore the burden of mankind's sin, illness, poverty, and worries in His own body (Rm5:6; 1Pe2:24).
 
He resurrected and ascended to the heavenly throne,
The throne of mercy to help in time of need (He4:16).
The Holy Spirit whom He sent is the Helper.
He helps God’s children in their weaknesses (Rm8:26-27)
By letting them know what they ought to pray for and cry out.
 
Prayer is to confess and ask, and
While it has the promise of God’s help (Jn14:13-14),
It must be done according to God’s will to be heard (1Jn5:14),
As the prayers not seeking according to His will are not heard (Jas4:2), that is,
Pagan prayers, which are physical, materialistic and carnal, are not heard by God (Mt6:32).
Therefore, the man of the Spirit
Asks for the kingdom of Christ and for his soul (Mt6:33).
Without ceasing, he rather prays in tongues, the prayer that his spirit prays (1Co14:14-15, 18),
Which is praising God (Ac2:11, 10:46) and uttering mysteries by the Spirit (1Co14:2).
 
O Lord,
The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak…
Let not even one of us pray like pagans.
Let us confess and ask according to Your will.
I, spirit, want to live and leave this burning universe to go to the Father’s house!
Lord, help me! Help us all!
