The Holy Spirit is the Overseer
(Ac20:28-32)

God is He who watches (2Ch16:9).
He sees the whole world, the mind, the heart, the inmost heart (Jer11:2, 17:10, 20:12), and
He closely watches over His own possession (Ac20:28).
 
Faith is being conscious of His gaze everywhere (Ps139:1-12; Jer23:24; Rev1:14, 5:6), and
The life of this faith is willingly going under His supervision and being watched over.
 
While people do not like the word, “supervision,”
Behind successful athletes, actors etc are excellent coaches who
Can read situations and guide with extraordinary insight.
 
The Bible is the story of God reclaiming His possession.
Deceived by the devil, Adam sinned (Ge2:17, 3:4-6), and
All mankind became demoted to the devil’s belonging (2Pe2:19).
 
The exodus of Israel materialized this as
God called them “My people” (Ex3:7) and
Dramatically led them to escape their slavery in Egypt
By showing the blood of the lamb (Ex12:13, 30-31).
 
Despite the fact, as an eagle protects its young,
God guarded them in the wilderness (Dt32:11; Jer49:22),
Walled them in with the Law (Hos2:6) and
Appointed the prophets to oversee them,
They abandoned their master and went astray.
Thus, they suffered under a curse (Is1:3). 
 
Referring to the Temple where the name of Jehovah was and
Where His eyes were open toward night and day (1KI8:29; Ps11:4, 102:19),
Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days,” because
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body (Jn2:19-21),
He would go in the souls of believers (Jn14:20) and
Watch over them from the inside (1Co2:11).
As such, He foresaw the betrayal of Judas (Jn13:10-27),
The denial of Peter (Lk22:34), and
The sufferings that His disciples would endure (Lk22:31-32).
 
As He died, He said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1)    Asked the Father to judge His wrongful death (La3:59; Lk23:46);
2)    Judged the thief the devil (Jn10:10; 1Jn3:8); and
3)    With His precious blood purchased the souls of all nations and returned them to the Father (1Pe1:18-19; Rev5:9).
 
He resurrected and sat on the heavenly throne and
He is the Owner of all things in heaven and on earth (Mt28:18).
The Holy Spirit whom He sent
Came to the souls and the Church which God purchased with His own blood (Ac20:28).
 
The man of the Spirit is

He who was like sheep going astray
But now has returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of his soul (1Pe2:25).
His precious soul, bought with God’s own blood, His precious blood, is
Supervised and intervened by the overseer appointed by the Holy Spirit,
Within the walls of the Church where the Holy Spirit oversees, and
Warned with the word of the truth (Ac20:31; He4:12-13).
Thus, he willingly cuts off the constant temptation
To jump over the wall to pursue self-indulgence, that is, the world (Jas1:21-25).
 
O Lord,
Before we lived like rebels, like sheep going astray…
But now we have met an overseer who supervises and watches over
Our souls purchased with Your precious blood…thank You, Lord!
Let us firmly cut off the temptation to go back to the world, and
When You return, let us all soar up aloft like an eagle and
Follow You to the Father’s house! Amen.
