The Renewal By the Holy Spirit
(Tit3:1-7)
God is the Father.
Through the word of truth He gives birth to children (Jas1:18) and
He inherits the best, what is eternally new to His children (Mt7:11), that is
An inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade that is kept in the new heaven (1Pe1:4).
Faith is knowing Him and believing Him and
The life of this faith is in order to become heirs of God
Being renewed in the heart and putting on the new self (Eph4:17; Col3:9-10).
While there are institutions in the world to transform men such as
Rehabilitation centers, prisons, detention centers etc
In reality they are not the perfect answer; and yet there is no other way.
The problem is that the universe itself is a prison cell where
The origin of sin the devil is contained (Is14:12-15; Jude1:6)
Until being burned up one day (2Pe3:7), and
All mankind became hell-bound with the devil (Mt25:41)
Since their ancestor Adam was deceived by the devil and sinned (Ge2:17, 3:4-6).
Although the deluge in Noah’s time covered the entire world (Ge7:21-23),
There was no way to eliminate the wickedness of men (Ge8:21; Job33:6).
To the Israelites who were enslaved in Egypt
The exodus marked the beginning of a new era of becoming God’s people (Ex19:6).
But all who grumbled about the desert life and
Wanted to go back to Egypt, to the past, all died there (Nu14:1-45).
While the sanctuary reminded that Jehovah brought them out of their slavery (Dt6:12),
As they repeated the guilt of their ancestors (Jer14:20), calamities continued.
Thus, the prophets appealed to them to renew their kingdom (1Sa11:14) and
Prayed for them to return to God and renew their days of old (La5:21).
Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days,” because
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body (Jn2:19),
He would tear down the old and raise the new (He10:9), that is,
When the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne, He would renew this world (Mt19:28),
Pour new wine into new wineskins (Mt9:17) and renew mankind (Ps104:30).
As He died, He said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1) Sprinkled His blood in the spiritual heaven and made it new, doing a new thing (Is43:19; He9:23-24);
2) Judged the devil, the origin of sin (Is14:12-15); and
3) With His blood made a new covenant with souls (Lk22:20).
His resurrection is something new that was not there before (Ecc1:9-10, 14).
He ascended to a new heaven (Rev21:1) and
Renews all things (Rev21:5).
The Holy Spirit comes to new creation, the souls made new by the blood of Yeshua (2Co5:17), and
Leads them to wash their flesh and be renewed (Eph5:26; Tit3:5), and
Follow the image of their Creator (Col3:9-10).
The man of the Spirit is he who
Struggles to put off his old self and put on the new self, and
Lives a changed life (Rm12:2; Eph4:17-21).
By the excellence of the knowledge of the truth (Php3:8),
He is renewed in his knowledge (Col3:10) of
The universe, of life, of family, of materials, of the flesh etc (Mt6:31-33, 12:48-50; Jn11:25-26).
He lives only for the Lord’s kingdom, the Lord’s church, his own soul for
When all things in creation burn, he longs to be saved and enter the new heaven (2Pe3:7-13).
O Lord,
A new heaven!
The place filled with eternal peace, joy, and gladness!
Give us the power to change
So in that day, we can all put on new bodies and
Soar up like an eagle! Amen.
