I Am the Light of the World
(Mt5:14-16)

God is the light (1Jn1:5).
In Him there is no darkness or shifting shadows (Jas1:17),
He lives in unapproachable light (1Ti6:16) and
Lets the children of light enter the holy city (Rev21:24).

Faith is becoming the children of light (Eph5:8) and
The life of this faith is shining on to the world the light that is within oneself for
Light cannot be hidden (Mt5:14-16) and it must shine to reveal all things.

The Bible shows the showdown between light and darkness.
God created the light and separated it from darkness (Ge1:3-4; Is45:7) and
The universe was made to contain until the judgment the angels (2Pe2:4),
The depths of the pit, Hades (Ge1:2; Is14:12-15).
As such, even Mount Horeb where Moses received the law was
Covered in the thick darkness (Dt5:22).

The light God created in the beginning was the material, finite light (Ge1:3-4).
While with the longevity of the sun
The fate of all living things on earth was determined,
The soul that receives the light in the Word will have eternal life (Is60:19; Jn1:4, 8:12).

Even in “the dark ages” the sole comfort for Israel was (Is50:10)
The Temple of Jerusalem (Da9:17) for the name Jehovah in it was the light of Israel (Ps27:1).

According to the prophecy, to all peoples the light, Yeshua, came (Is60:1-3) and said,
“Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days” (Jn2:19-20), because
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body,
He would not in the name Jehovah but the Father’s name Yeshua (Jn5:43)
Shine the light to not only Israel but all the Gentiles (Lk2:32),
Not in the temple but in the souls of men (Lk11:33).
As such, His face shone like the sun (Mt17:2) for
He is the true light who made the light (Jn1:1, 4, 9-10).

While the sun’s light failed and there was darkness over the whole land (Lk23:44),
Yeshua died and said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that:
1) The Father is the immortal light (1Ti6:16);
2) Condemned the devil who disguises himself as an angel of light (2Co11:14; 1Jn3:8); and
3) Sprinkled His redeeming blood on all men who are in darkness and gave the light of life (Mt4:16; Jn8:12; Eph1:7).

He resurrected and entered the New Jerusalem (Rev21:23) where
There is no need for the sun or the moon for it is filled with His marvelous light (1Pe2:9).

The Holy Spirit who came from there
Lets those who became the children of light
Put on the armor of light so they may become the light of the world (Rm13:12).

The Christian is he who does not hide his faith
From his family or whoever in the world (Mt5:15) but rather reveals it through
Deeds that are good, right and true (Eph5:9)
He is clothed in fine linen, bright and pure (Rev19:8) so
When the end of the world comes and the sun becomes black as sackcloth (Rev6:12)
He longs to escape Hades faster than the speed of light and
Enter the New Jerusalem that is bright (Rev21:24).

O Lord,
For I had loved darkness in the past
I did many evil, shameful things in hiding.
But now, for I love the light
Without hiding I want to reveal that I am a crazy Christian!
I want to climb up the mountains and shout it out,
I want to stand out on the street and cry out.
Let us proclaim the excellence of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light!
Amen.
