Rejoicing Over the Coming of the Lord Yeshua in the Flesh
(Is52:7; Lk2:1-20)

God is the source of joy.
From Him flows true joy and
He prepares the greatest joy (Rev19:7) for
Those who rejoice with His joy and proclaim the good news of great joy (Jn15:11).

News such as the victory of a nation at war, clemency granted to one on death row,
The missing child returning home alive, finding an organ donor etc are all
Good news of joy for those in hopeless situations.

Faith is rejoicing over the coming of the Lord Yeshua in the flesh and
The life of this faith is never losing this joy (Php1:17-18) and proclaiming the good news (Is52:7).

The Bible proclaims the news of great joy for all men
Since their ancestor Adam sinned
They were all ensnared in sin, death and curse (Ge2:17, 3:4-6, 17),
Bound to fall into the bottomless pit of hell with the devil (Mt25:41).

In the midst of such, there were those who rejoiced even at hearing the footsteps of good news:
At the age of 100, Abraham bore a son (Ge18:10, 21:10) and
Rejoiced seeing God returning to his flesh and blood;
David who heard the news of how the ark of God blessed the household of Obed-Edom
Brought up the ark to the City of David with rejoicing (2Sa6:12-15).

After David provided over and above everything for the temple of God (1Ch29:3)
His son Solomon built the Temple of Jerusalem, and
The people longed for the appearance of the Savior of Israel at the gates of Zion (Ps9:14, 53:6).
According to the prophecy, a son was born of a virgin (Is7:14),
His name was Immanuel, Yeshua who came as Christ (Is9:6).

Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days,” because
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body (Jn2:19-21),
He would be the good news of great joy for all people (Is61:1) for
He is the Word who became flesh (Jn1:1, 14), the only begotten Son (Jn1:18).
He Himself would bear all men’s sin (1Pe2:24) and die to pay the price of sin, and
By shedding His blood, cleanse, forgive sin and give life (Lev17:11; He9:22).
Furthermore, His punishment would bring peace, and by His wounds give healing (Is53:5).

As He died, He said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1) Completed with rejoicing the death He willingly chose (Ps122:1; Jn10:17);
2) Judged the devil the thief (Ge3:4-6; 1Jn3:8); and
3) Redeemed all men and saved them from sin, death and curse (Eph1:7).

He resurrected and sat on the heavenly throne and
The Holy Spirit whom He sent comes and
Turns sorrow into joy (Jn16:20).

The Christian is he who
Goes from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth (Ac1:8) and
Proclaims the news of great joy.
Even if he suffers disgrace he rejoices (Ac5:40-42) for he is
Sorrowful, yet always rejoicing,
Poor, yet making many rich,
Having nothing and yet possessing everything (2Co6:10) for when the Lord Yeshua comes in glory
He longs to be overjoyed with the unspeakable joy (1Pe4:13).

O Lord!
Economic recession, unemployment, climate change, terrorism, suicide…
We are irrelevant to such bad news we hear in the world.
Rather, over this news of the coming of our Lord Yeshua in the flesh
We rejoice and rejoice!
Let us open up our lips and proclaim this good news to the world! Amen.
