God Will Not Surpass the Soul
(Jn6:63; Rm8:5-14)

God is Spirit (Jn4:24).
He is invisible but exists and
He rules by His word and
Guides His children by the Spirit of God and inherits them the spiritual heaven (Rm8:14).

Faith is believing, “God is Spirit, I am spirit” and
The life of this faith is living according to the spirit, that is, as spirit putting to death the deeds of the flesh (Rm8:13).

The Bible illustrates three different types of spiritual beings:
God (transcendent); angels (intermediate); and man (limited).
Man (Ge1:27): flesh + person (intelligence, emotion and free will);
Adam: man + the breath of life —> a living being (Ge2:7);
After the dust body (the outward man) dies —> to dust (2Co4:16) but
The soul (the inward man) eternally exists (Rm7:22).
For food the flesh eats bread, the soul the word of God (Dt8:3; Mt4:4).

God commanded Adam to not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Ge2:17)
But deceived by the devil he disobeyed and ate, which was sin.
As a result, death, the price of sin entered all men (Rm5:12, 6:23), all destined for hell (Mt25:41).

To reveal sin and death its price, God gave the Law to Israel (Rm5:13, 7:9-13),
While in the temple sinners gave atoning sacrifices:
The fat of the animal sacrifice was burned at the altar (Lev4:10) and
Its blood was poured at the base of the altar and sprinkled inside the sanctuary (Lev4:18) for
It is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life (Lev17:11).

Yet these were only external regulations regarding the flesh,
A shadow of the good things that were to come (He9:10, 10:1-4).

Thus, Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days,”
Because through the death and the resurrection of the temple of HIs body (Jn2:19-21),
Not animal sacrifice but the Son of God would become a ransom (Mt20:28; Jn1:29),
For not only a selective people of Israel but the souls of all nations and
Set sinners free from the price of sin (Jn8:32) for
The Word in the beginning who is God became flesh, the Spirit became flesh (Jn1:1-2, 14).
He came as the last Adam, the life-giving spirit, to give the life in Him (Jn1:4, 6:63)
To the living spirit, the first Adam (1Co15:45-47).

He died and said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1) Laid down His life according to the Father’s command to receive it back (Jn10:17-18, 12:50);
2) By belonging to flesh and blood destroyed the ruler of death (He2:14); and
3) With His blood redeemed the sins of all men and spilled His life on souls, so that whoever
receives would be set free from the slavery under the devil (Jn3:16; Rm8:1-2).

He resurrected and ascended to the throne of heaven.
He is the Lamb who has eternal marks of death (Rev7:17).

The Holy Spirit comes to those who have the the Spirit of Christ (His blood) (Rm8:9-11) and
Leads men of flesh grow up to be men of spirit so
Those who once moved by the commands of their physical senses, intelligence, and emotions
Now move by the commands of the Spirit of God.

The man of the Spirit is a man of spirit who
Never forgets, “I am a soul and this is my flesh!” and
So the goal of his life is for the soul and that is eternal life.
He receives the word of Christ as command and obeys
For it is the food for the soul (Jn6:63, 68, 12:50), and does not worry about his flesh (Mt6:25-34).
The top priority of his life is to follow the Lord and
Proclaim the kingdom of God (Mt16:24-25; Lk9:59-62).
He puts effort to live according to the spirit, putting death to the deeds of the flesh (Rm8:12-13),
Distancing himself from the wicked, the worldly and the fleshly (Ps1:1; 1Jn2:16) and
Clings to the church where men of spirit abide (Jn15:4-6).

O Lord,
“I am a soul!”
Let us never forget this undeniable truth even for a moment!
For God never surpasses the soul
Let us never surpass the top priority of the soul.
Let us gain strength in our souls and use this flesh as Your vessels (2Ti2:21).
Let us be in the company of men of spirit and become men of spirit! Amen.
