The Zeal for the House of the Lord

God has zeal (Is37:32).
He speaks in His zeal (Eze5:13) and
His zeal accomplishes what He speaks (2Ki19:31).

Faith is being moved by His zeal and
The life of this faith is being zealous for the house of the Lord (2Co11:2).

It would not be exaggerating to say that,
The history of the world is made by a small number of people for
Whether it is ideology, politics, science, culture or civilization,
It is accomplished by those who are insanely zealous.

The Bible is written of the zeal of God.
All the things that God made according to their kinds testify Him, and
To judge Satan who sinned God established the universe (Is14:12-15) and
Sent His Son to pursue him (1Jn3:8),
Finally with death judging him (Ge3:21; He2:14).

The exodus of Israel was the result of God’s zeal with His own arm (Is59:16-17).
With ten plagues He struck Egypt while
He passed over the households of Israel with the blood of lamb (Ex12:13).

The people of Israel could be said to be the most zealous people for:
1) The only God (1Ki19:10); 2) the Law; 3) the holy name (Eze39:25); 4) their own people (Ge34:1-31;
2Sa21:2); 5) their zeal for the house of the Lord (Ps69:9).
As such, when they lost the ark of the Lord (1Sa5:1) or while exiled
Their zeal for the house of the Lord was extraordinary (Is27:14, 42:4).

Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days,” because
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body (Jn2:19-21),
He would be zealous with the zeal of the Father.
Although during His public life He was zealous for doing good (Ac10:38),
He was accused of blasphemy and was put to death by the Jews, the zealots (Mt27:25).

However, As He died, He said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that:
1) He was consumed by the Father’s zeal to make the Son the Heir of all things (He1:2), the
Jews’ zeal for the house of the Lord (Ps69:9) and the Son’s own zeal for the Father’s house (Ps119:139);
2) Judged the enemy the devil (1Jn3:8); and
3) Redeemed mankind to make them His own people who are zealous for good works (Tit2:14).

He resurrected and sat on the heavenly throne.

The Holy Spirit whom He sent lets believers to have zeal for:
1) There is no other salvation or mediator but Yeshua; 2) keeping, defending and teaching the truth;
3) the name Yeshua; 4) the salvation of souls; and 5) the church.

Paul was a man zealous for God (Ac22:3).
While in the past he zealously persecuted the church (1Co15:9),
Later on, however, he greatly suffered for the church (Col1:24).
As such, wherever he went he built a church and
Faced daily the pressure of his anxiety for the churches (2Co11:28), and
Protected the church even after his departure (Ac20:28-32).

He who hears the rebuking of the Spirit is he who
Has zeal for the Lord, for the church
In order to not be spat out in the last day (Rev3:19).

O Lord,
Let us all have the zeal that others can feel even by just looking at us!
The zeal for the Lord, for the truth, for the church… Amen.
