God is the Owner.
With His blood He purchases souls and becomes their Master (1Pe1:18-19) and
He ministers with the best and He is served by the best.
He lets those who serve Him faithfully on earth minister to Him where He dwells (Ps101:6).
Faith is knowing that the One who purchased my soul with His precious blood is my Master and
The life of this faith is loving that Master and so pouring out all my heart, all my strength and all my
breath and serving the Lord Christ (Dt11:13; Col3:24).
While people love to be served, they do not like to serve.
Yet God is to be served, not by angels or men, but by the Son of God the King of kings for
The position of the one served is determined by the status of the one serving, and
The position of the one serving is determined by the status of the one served.
Satan was initially made and given the position to serve God (Eze28:12-17), but
He became proud and left his proper position wanting to be served by angels (Is14:12-15).
So God contained him in the universe until the great day of judgment (Jude1:6), where
He deceived Adam to want to be like God and sin (Ge3:4-6), and
As a result, all men became slaves of the devil to follow him to hell (Mt25:41; 2Pe2:19).
The exodus of Israel fulfilled according to God’s prophecy (Ge15:13-14; Ac7:7):
He punished the nation Abraham’s descendants served and delivered them
To make them His kingdom of priests (Ex19:6; Is61:6).
The Law is the ordinance of divine service (He9:1): The priests were from Abraham — Jacob — Levi — Aaron’s sons (Ex28:1; He7:11),
Consecrated through washing — blood — oil — garments (Ex28:1-42), and
Always standing ministered to God (Dt17:12); The sanctuary — the first curtain — before Jehovah (He9:1-6); The sacrifice — flawless animals such as calves, sheep, goats etc (Lev4:3-35). The people — brought tithes, the first crop and all kinds of offerings into the sanctuary.
The priest and his sons ate the food offerings (Lev10:1, 13-15) and
The man of God, the prophet also ate (1Ki17:9-16).
The curse on Israel was the result of the priests considering
The service to be a burden and cheating God of offerings (Mal1:6-14).
Because Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days,”
He was hated especially by the chief priests (Mt26:65).
However, through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body (Jn2:19-21),
He would serve the Father, not in the name of Jehovah but in the Father’s name of Yeshua (Jn5:43),
Not in the sanctuary made with human hands but through His body,
Not with animal sacrifice but His own blood (He9:11-14),
Not as a priest who sins and dies but as the perfect eternal high priest (He7:26-28).
For such, God came as man, as one who serves (Mt20:28; Lk22:27; Jn1:1, 14) and
According to the prophecy, the time has come when
It will be the same for priest and people, and the master and his servant (Is24:2).
He promised that those who serve Him on earth will
Serve Him gloriously where He is (Jn12:26), seated on the thrones (Mt19:28).
By the chief priests who believed that killing Him was serving God (Jn16:2),
Yeshua was passed over to death and like a drink offering (Nu28:7)
He poured out all His blood and water and died, but said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30, 34) for He:
1) Made His body the sanctuary, His blood the sacrifice and as the high priest served the Father;
2) Judged the devil who gave up serving God (Is14:12-15; Eze28:12-17); and
3) With His blood delivered all men and made them His kingdom and priests (Rev1:5-6).
He resurrected and ascended to the heavenly throne as the eternal Master.
The Holy Spirit lets those who believe serve sacrificially (1Co12:3; Php3:3)
The Lord Christ (Col3:24; He9:14), the Church (Eph4:12; He9:14),
The saints (1Co16:15; 2Co8:4, 9:12), and one another (Gal5:13; Eph6:7; 1Ti6:1-2).
Christians serve with whatever gift they received (Mt25:14; 1Pe4:10) and
Not using the right of the gospel, become volunteer workers (1Co9:12-15; 2Co9:9-15).
Like a drink offering, they pour themselves out while on earth (Php2:17) and
God gives life and breath and everything else to them (Ac17:25; 2Co9:10-13).
On the day the Lord comes, they long to see the face of their beloved Master Yeshua Christ and
Serve Him eternally (Rev22:1-5).
O Lord,
Before we leave this world
Let us pour out all our tears, sweat, blood…and leave nothing behind.
Let the worship of the Church of Jesus and our lives all become a drink offering for You! Amen.
