Live, My Soul!
(Rm8:5-14)

God is the God of eternal life (Ge21:33).
In Him is life (Jn1:4) and
He lets those who desire and strive to live eternally live and
Guides the children of God with the Spirit of God and inherits the spiritual heaven (Rm8:14).

Faith is knowing “I am a soul,” a soul that must live, and longing to live.
The life of this faith is putting effort for the soul to live even at the cost of losing breath, that is,
living according to the spirit, putting to death the deeds of the flesh (Rm8:3, 13).

While the most important thing in this world is life
The life of man is really a breath (Job7:7), and
The life that is dependent on breath is pitiful.

The Bible differentiates three spiritual beings:
1) God (transcendent); 2) angels (intermediate); 3) man (limited).

The composition of man, that is, Adam, the living being, is
The flesh that lives by the food that comes from dust and
The spirit that lives by the word that comes from the mouth of God (Ge2:7. 17; Dt8:3).
After the outwardly man (flesh) dies it returns to dust (2Co4:16)
While the inwardly man (soul) eternally exists (Rm7:22).

On the night of the Passover, the Israelites who obeyed the command and
Put blood of lamb around their doors lived (Ex12:13) for
There is life in the blood and the blood redeems (Lev17:11).

The commandment that God gave them was for them to choose life to live (Dt30:19) and
It showed that those who wanted to live were spared of their life:
Cain who killed (Ge4:14-15),
Those who ran into the cities of refuge after accidentally killing (Nu35:15-28),
Even the traitor who held onto the horns of the altar (1Ki1:50-53).

The Law taught them about sin and the price of sin, death:
1) The original sin — Adam’s sin — all mankind inherited this sin and the price of sin death (Ps51:5; Rm5:12-13);
2) The sins of desire (Ge4:7);
3) Self-committed sins — breaking the law (Rm7:9-13).

The temple was where the atoning sacrifice was given for the redemption of their sins,
A sign for the grace for sinners (He8:5).

Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days,” because
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of HIs body (Jn2:19-21),
He would set free from the price of sin (Jn8:32)
Not only the people of Israel but the souls of all nations
Through a ransom not by animals but by the Son of God (Mt20:28; Jn1:29) for
The Word in the beginning who is God became flesh, that is, the Spirit became flesh (Jn1:1-2, 14).
He came as the last Adam, the life-giving spirit, who gives life to
The living spirit, the first Adam (1Co15:45-47).

As He died He said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1) Laid down His life and obeyed the Father’s command in order to receive it back (Jn10:17-18, 12:50);
2) By belonging to flesh and blood annihilated the ruler of death (He2:14); and
3) Set free from the slavery under the devil the souls sprinkled by His redeeming blood (Rm8:1-2; He2:15).

He resurrected and ascended to the throne in heaven and
He is the author of life (Ac3:15), the Lamb who has eternal marks of death (Rev7:17).

The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of life (Rm8:32), the Spirit of God (Rm8:9) comes to
Those who believed in the name Yeshua and received the Spirit of Christ (Jn20:31) and
Teaches man of the flesh to become man of the spirit (Rm8:5-8)
To move by the commands of not the flesh but the Spirit of God.

The man of the spirit never forgets even for a minute that, “I am a soul! This is my flesh!”
Therefore, he makes eternal life the goal of his life so
Not worrying about food for the flesh (Mt6:25-33) he obeys the word of Christ (Jn6:63, 68, 12:50).
The top priority of his life is to proclaim the kingdom of God (Lk9:59-62) and
He lives according to the spirit putting to death the misdeeds of the flesh (Rm8:12-13),
Distancing himself from the wicked, those without hope (Ps1:1-3).
For he longs to be judged as the living when the Lord returns (2Ti4:i1)
He abides with men of the spirit, the church. His path is blessed.

O Lord,
“I am a soul!” — let us never forget this not even for a moment.
For me, the soul, for eternal life
Let us all live according to the determined top priority of life and
Put to death the desires of the flesh.
Let us be in the company of men of the spirit and become men of the spirit.
Awake, my soul! Amen.
